Getting Here

Is there a shuttle service from the train station to the hotel?

Yes, our shuttle service from the Zermatt train station to the Hotel Phoenix Zermatt is free for our hotel guests and available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please contact our front desk before your arrival so we can arrange the transfer for you.

Is the Phoenix Hotel near the train station?

The Hotel Phoenix is located just a 7- to 8-minute walk from the Zermatt train station and can be easily reached on foot or via our free shuttle service.

How do I get to the Hotel Phoenix Zermatt?

From the Zermatt train station, you can reach the Hotel Phoenix in just 7–8 minutes on foot. Exit the station and turn left, then follow the main street to the Denner supermarket. Before you reach it, turn right onto Untere Mattenstrasse. Cross the intersection and the bridge, then walk up Sunneggastrasse. The first street on your left is Untere Wiestistrasse. You’ll be able to see the hotel from there. You’re also welcome to take the e-bus (green line) from the stop in front of the Zermatt train station to the Wiestibrücke stop. Alternatively, we’d be happy to pick you up between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. with our free shuttle service. If you’re traveling by car, we recommend Parking Schaller in Täsch, which offers special rates. From there, you can easily reach Zermatt by train or via our taxi service (for a fee).

How far is the hotel from the ski lifts?

The Hotel Phoenix is just a 4-minute walk from the Sunnegga cable car and a 2-minute walk from the ski bus stop. The ski bus will take you conveniently to the valley station of the Matterhorn Glacier Express. You can reach the Gornergrat cable car in about 8 minutes on foot or by ski bus.

Where can I park my car when I'm staying at the Hotel Phoenix Zermatt?

Since Zermatt is car-free, we recommend the Schaller parking lot in Täsch. As our guest, you’ll enjoy a special rate on parking fees. From Täsch, you can easily reach Zermatt by train or using our taxi service.

Reservation

The Phoenix Hotel is fully booked on my desired dates. What can I do?

If the Hotel Phoenix is fully booked on your desired dates, our reservation system will automatically show you available alternatives within the Aufdenblatten Collection. If your travel dates are flexible, it’s also worth checking other dates. Our reservations team will be happy to assist you personally via email or phone in finding a suitable alternative.

Can I change a reservation after it's been made?

Whether a change is possible depends on your reservation and availability. Just contact our reservations team—we'll see what we can do.

When do I have to pay for the room?

We require payment in advance. We will send you a secure payment link before the cancellation deadline expires. You can conveniently pay any tourist taxes and food and beverage charges on site.

What are the benefits of booking directly?

When you book directly through our website, you’ll enjoy exclusive benefits: You’ll receive a Collection Currency credit worth CHF 20.– per night and room, redeemable at all properties in the Aufdenblatten Collection. You’ll also receive a 25% discount on parking fees at Parking Schaller in Täsch (when booked in advance) and a 15% discount when paying on-site.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, TWINT, REKA, and all major credit and debit cards—including contactless payments, of course.

How can I book a room?

You can easily book your room directly through our website. Click the "Book" button, check availability, and secure your stay at the Hotel Phoenix in just a few steps.

How do I cancel?

If you cancel within the cancellation period, simply click the link in your booking confirmation. If you made your reservation through Booking.com or another platform, please cancel directly through that platform. If the cancellation period has already expired, please contact our reservations team—we’ll work with you to find a solution.

How far is the Alpen Resort & Spa from the hotel?

The Alpen Resort & Spa is located just about a five-minute walk from the Hotel Phoenix.

Is there a restaurant at the Phoenix Hotel?

The Hotel Phoenix serves a hearty breakfast every day. For lunch and dinner, you can enjoy the culinary variety offered by the Aufdenblatten Collection, which features five restaurants in Zermatt and Täsch. We’ll take you to our restaurants in Zermatt for free via our shuttle service.

Are there any vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free breakfast options?

Yes, our breakfast buffet offers a selection of vegetarian and vegan options. We’re happy to provide gluten-free alternatives upon request. Ideally, please let us know before you arrive so we can make all the necessary preparations for you.

Can I eat at the restaurants even if I'm just a guest?

Yes, our restaurants are open to everyone—both hotel guests and visitors from outside the hotel.

Do I need to make a reservation at the restaurant?

We recommend making a reservation in advance for PeakFine, HORNOX, Da Vinci, and Ribis & Stibis. Reservations are generally not required at The Dude.

Are dogs allowed in restaurants?

Yes, dogs are welcome in all restaurants in the Aufdenblatten Collection.

Does the restaurant have high chairs?

High chairs for little ones are available upon request at all restaurants in the Collection.

What restaurants are there in the area?

The Aufdenblatten Collection includes five restaurants in Zermatt and Täsch. At PeakFine, you can enjoy Swiss cuisine with a Mediterranean twist; HORNOX serves high-quality grilled dishes and vegan specialties in the winter; and The Dude invites you to enjoy drinks and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. In Täsch, you’ll find Da Vinci, which offers Italian cuisine, and Ribis & Stibis, which serves Swiss and Portuguese specialties.

What dining options are available?

Your stay at the Hotel Phoenix includes a generous breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, you can dine at the restaurants of the Aufdenblatten Collection in Zermatt and Täsch.

How does the free shuttle to the restaurants work?

Just let our front desk know if you'd like to visit one of our restaurants in Zermatt. Our free shuttle will usually pick you up at the hotel within 10 minutes and take you comfortably to the restaurant (until 9:00 p.m.).

Wellness

At what age can children use the spa?

Guests of all ages are welcome to use the pool area, including the children's pool. Saunas and relaxation areas are open to guests 14 years of age and older.

Does the Hotel Phoenix Zermatt have a spa?

As a guest of the Hotel Phoenix, you’ll enjoy free access to the Alpen Resort & Spa’s spa and wellness area, which spans over 1,000 m² and is just a five-minute walk away. Look forward to pools, saunas, relaxation areas, and a wide range of wellness treatments—the perfect place to unwind after a day in Zermatt.

Is the spa area included in the room rate?

Yes, access to the spa and wellness area at the Alpen Resort & Spa is included in the room rate for guests of the Hotel Phoenix.

Are bathrobes and bath towels included?

Yes, during your stay, we will provide you with bathrobes and bath towels for the spa area free of charge. You can conveniently pick them up at the front desk of the Alpen Resort & Spa.

Can I book massages and spa treatments?

Yes, at the Alpen Resort & Spa, you can choose from a variety of massages and beauty treatments. You can find the current selection of massages and treatments here. The spa team will also be happy to advise you personally on choosing the right treatment.

What saunas and wellness facilities are available?

At the Alpen Resort & Spa, you’ll find a 15-meter indoor pool, an indoor and outdoor hot tub, a Finnish sauna, a steam room, an onsen, sensory showers, and stylish relaxation rooms. For families, there’s also a children’s area with a baby pool, a slide, and a play corner.

Rooms

Do the rooms offer options for people with allergies?

Yes—we’re happy to provide hypoallergenic bedding and pillows. In addition, our rooms have hardwood floors instead of carpet. It’s best to let us know your preferences when you make your reservation.

Is there luggage storage available before check-in or after check-out?

Of course. We’ll gladly store your luggage for free before check-in and after check-out—just stop by the front desk.

Is there a ski and bike storage room?

Yes, the hotel has a ski and bike storage room available for your use.

Is there a gym?

Yes, as a guest of the Hotel Phoenix, you can work out for free at Kraftwerk Fitness, located right next to the hotel.

Is there free Wi-Fi at the Hotel Phoenix?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Phoenix Hotel.

Are there any rooms with balconies?

Yes, our Superior Double Rooms feature a private balcony or terrace.

I'll be arriving after 10:30 p.m. — how can I check in?

No problem. Please let us know before your arrival if you’ll be arriving after 10:30 p.m. You can complete your online check-in in advance. We’ll leave your room key at the front desk. If you have any questions, our night porter will be happy to assist you at any time.

Is the Phoenix Hotel suitable for families with children?

Yes. The Hotel Phoenix is ideal for families with young children. Our Superior Double Rooms and the Deluxe Tower Room can accommodate up to three people. We’re happy to provide a crib free of charge for children up to 2 years old. At the Alpen Resort & Spa—which is included in your stay—children also have access to a play area with table tennis and foosball, a playroom for the little ones, and a separate children’s pool with a slide and play area in the spa.

Are all rooms non-smoking?

Yes, all rooms and indoor areas at the Hotel Phoenix are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted only on the balconies, in the outdoor areas, and in the Sinatra Lounge at the Alpen Resort & Spa.

Are cribs or extra beds available?

Yes, cribs and rollaway beds are available. Our Superior Double Rooms and the Deluxe Tower Room feature a sofa bed and can accommodate up to three people. If you let us know about any children when you book, we’ll have everything ready for your arrival. For children up to 2 years old, we provide a crib. For children 3 years and older, as well as for adults, we’ll set up a rollaway bed or sofa bed in the room.

Are dogs allowed at the Phoenix Hotel?

Yes, dogs are welcome at the Hotel Phoenix. Please let us know when you make your reservation so we can make the best possible arrangements for your stay.

Do the rooms have a coffee maker or a electric kettle?

Yes, every room has a coffee and tea station available for you—for a hot drink whenever you like.

When can I check in and check out?

Check-in is available daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Check-out is by 11:00 a.m.

Which rooms offer a view of the Matterhorn?

Our Deluxe Tower Room offers a magnificent view of the Matterhorn and captivates guests with its unique architecture in the hotel's tower.

Miscellaneous

Can I buy a gift certificate?

Yes, you can purchase gift certificates for the Hotel Phoenix Zermatt as well as all other properties in the Aufdenblatten Collection. To do so, click on the gift icon in the upper right corner of our website. This will take you directly to our gift certificate shop, where you can conveniently order your gift certificate online.

Can I buy ski and lift tickets at the hotel?

During the winter season, you can purchase ski and lift tickets directly from us at the front desk.

What is the Aufdenblatten Collection?

The Hotel Phoenix is part of the Aufdenblatten Collection. The “Aufdenblatten Collection” is more than just a collection of hotels. We are a family of hosts with deep roots in the Zermatt and Täsch region. Our vision is to translate traditional Valais hospitality into a contemporary, high-quality experience.
